Castle Campbell Creative Celebrations

Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust (STDT) together with Historic Scotland hosted a fun day of celebrations at Castle Campbell on Saturday 11th July 2009. This wonderful event saw over 200 visitors,who once again breathed life, laughter, music and dance into the spectacular castle. During the day guests to the castle took part in both Historic and Ceilidh dance, storytelling, and object handling. |
STDT's Cultural Exchange

STDT played host to a troupe of Basque dancers 'Amaiur' at Broomhall Castle in Menstrie on Sunday 10th August 2008. This event was an exchange of cultures between the Baques and the Scots. Guests at the event enjoyed performances from both the Scots and the Basques and the afternoon ended with both cultures participating in traditional Scottish and Basque dances. STDT was honoured to welcome the Spanish Consulate General to this exciting afternoon. |
Clackmannanshire St Andrews Day Celebrations

Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust (STDT) were delighted to be involved in Alloa's first St Andrews day celebrations on Saturday 28th November in Alloa town centre. STDT worked along side Clackmannanshire Council after their plans for the celebrations were awarded a grant of £5,000 from Event Scotland. Dancers took to the streets for a number of dance performances and 'have a go' sessions. Spectators were entertained by FUSE dancers, Inverkeithing Step Dancers, Edinburgh Early Dancers and The Edinburgh Tattoo Highland Ceilidh Dancers later in the afternoon visitors and dancers came together to dance a Virginia Reel with over 120 participants. |
